On Thursday, January 26th, the Young Collectors Night at the Winter Antiques Show returns to the Park Avenue Armory, attracting over 650 new collectors, young philanthropists, interior designers, and art and antiques enthusiasts.
The event will once again host the outstanding Interior Design Committee, led by Chairwoman Wendy Goodman, Design Editor of New York magazine. This prestigious group of 77 designers includes some of the country’s most illustrious interior designers, including Nate Berkus, Thom Filicia, Jonathan Adler, Celerie Kemble, Eric Cohler, Jamie Drake, Alex Papachristidis, Miles Redd, and many more.
"We are thrilled to have so many prominent and influential interior designers join us for this important evening,” said Goodman. “These tastemakers are constantly re-imagining the rules of design, blending antiques into modern and contemporary settings, and celebrating old and new in stylish and sophisticated ways. It's exciting to see the art and design communities come together to support the important work of East Side House Settlement.”
The evening is co-chaired by Courtney Booth, Emily Israel Pluhar, and Stephanie Clark. The Vice Chairs are Melissa D. Berkelhammer, Roric Tobin & Justin Concannon, Cristin & Britt deVeer, Clay Floren, Ashley & Charlie Fox, Dawne Marie Grannum, Kate Horvitz, Taylor S. Hurt, Claire & David Maxwell, Elizabeth Meigher, Anika Yael Natori, Elise O’Connell, Allyson and Chris Pachios, Marlies Verhoeven Reijtenbagh & Jacco Reijtenbagh, Marie Rentschler, Georgina Schaeffer, Lacary Sharpe, and Alexandra Buckley Voris.
"It's wonderful to see a new generation of collectors and art aficionados join together with so many of this country's most talented designers for a night benefitting East Side House Settlement," said Eileen McComb, Corporate Communications Director of Benjamin Moore. "It promises to be an unforgettable evening and Benjamin Moore is privileged to do its share in making it possible."
Sponsored by New York magazine, Benjamin Moore, and Elie Tahari, and benefitting East Side House Settlement, the evening offers guests a private viewing of one of the world’s most prestigious antiques shows renowned for its showcase of American, English, European, and Asian fine and decorative arts dating from antiquity through the 1960s. Proceeds from the event will benefit East Side House Settlement, a leading social services agency that serves young people and families in the South Bronx and surrounding communities.
“Last year’s Young Collectors Night was a tremendous success and we are excited to bring back the same special energy to the antiques show this year,” said John Sanchez, Executive Director, East Side House Settlement. “Once again, we have an unbelievable line up of leaders from the art, design, and philanthropy worlds and it is exciting to see these groups come together to support East Side House Settlement. The proceeds raised from Young Collectors Night are essential to our work creating opportunities for the families of the South Bronx and surrounding communities.”
Proceeds will support East Side House Settlement’s highly successful college preparation programs, which are crucial in promoting education and employment for the residents of the South Bronx and surrounding communities.
Returning for a third year as the official fashion sponsor for Young Collectors Night is internationally renowned fashion designer Elie Tahari. “I always look forward to this evening and being able to see elegant guests dressed in our clothes in the incredible setting at the Armory,” said Tahari. “It’s such a memorable occasion and I am honored to be a part of it for a third year.”
