Clever, the millennial-focused channel launched last October by Architectural Digest, is partnering with Modsy on a design-in-a-box service encompassing both design and e-commerce. The initiative will deliver style tips and what the partners say is “the confidence to create a beautiful living space,” as well as help customers buy furniture via full-scale digital renderings of their homes.

How does the partnership square with ADs broader mission of promoting professional interior designers? “AD has always been about supporting the interior design community and with the launch of Clever, we’re able to do so at every level and price point,” AD editor in chief Amy Astley tells EAL. “We believe that everybody can benefit from having interior design advice and understand that a larger budget doesn’t necessarily equal better work. Our partnership with Modsy is a way to service a wide range of people who are interested in design at an affordable price.”

Users will be able to shop furniture and decor, curated by Clever’s editors, in a 3-D version of their own rooms. As is the case with Modsy’s primary service, they take a style quiz and submit photos and measurements for their rooms. Modsy stylists then create two custom 3-D designs outfitted with products that are shoppable on their site.

There are two packages available: one at $69 per room that provides two designs, and one for $199 per room that provides two designs plus dedicated access to a Modsy stylist, in addition to custom design tips, layout suggestions, and product recommendations. Among the retailers available are CB2, Anthropologie and Blu Dot. Modsy also already has collaborations with retailers Crate & Barrel and CB2.

Architectural Digest’s Clever has set a new bar for delivering home design and decor content that not only inspires but engages a new wave of very knowledgeable, design-conscious millennials,” said Modsy CEO Shanna Tellerman. “Launching an exclusive experience with Clever was a no-brainer for us, and we can’t wait to design rooms with Clever’s beautiful, on-trend collection for Modsy and bring their content to life inside real spaces.”
