Angelo Donghia Foundation awards a dozen scholarships

The Angelo Donghia Foundation has announced 12 winners of its 2013 Student Scholarship Program in interior design, each of whom will receive up to $30,000 to be applied to senior year tuition, board, maintenance and books. The winners were selected from 27 student projects submitted by accredited institutions.

This year’s panel of judges included: Benjamin Noriega-Ortiz of  BNO Design; Cheryl Tague of Core Home; Christopher Maya of Christopher Maya; Darren Henault of Darren Henault Interiors; Debra Blair of Blair Design and Associates; Glenn Gissler of Glenn Gissler Design; Joe Nahem of Fox-Nahem Associates; Matthew Berman of Workshop/apd; Paul Siskin of Siskin Valls Interior Design; Philip Gorrivan of Philip Gorrivan Design; and Zack McKown of Tsao & McKown Architects.
The Senior Scholarship Program winners were Zara Vardanyan, Art Center College of Design; Thomas Acosta and Molly Hubley, Otis College of Art and Design; Amanda Sasse, University of Nebraska; Channalin Chantavilasvong, Fashion Institute of Technology; Anne Aristya and Alevtina Vinokur, New York School of Interior Design; Holly Emmeline Smith, University of Cincinnati; Misti Fahr-Filipiak and Brandon Lackey O’More College of Design; Elizabeth Ashley Thompson and Jessica Yong University of Texas at Austin.
The foundation launched the scholarships in 2002 to award deserving students who are entering their senior year in a Baccalaureate Degree Program in interior design.
The Angelo Donghia Foundation provides support for two distinct fields, the advancement of education in the field of interior design; and secondly, initiatives pertaining to the discovery of causes of AIDS and its related diseases and treatments. Since its launch, the Foundation has awarded in excess of $9,750,000 to the above causes.
