With designers including Brian P. Brady, Jamie Drake, Kevin Hart, Tamara Magel, Mark Schryver and Peri Wolfman, the ARF Designer Showhouse premieres with a kickoff cocktail party and preview on May 30 at the ARF Thrift & Treasure Shop in Sagaponack, New York, starting off a summer of events that benefit the cats and dogs of the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons.
The designers will be transforming the space with furnishings from both the thrift shop and their own collections. The Showhouse will feature a cocktail party and some special extras, including a book signing by Jorge Bendersky, author of DIY Dog Grooming, From Puppy to Best in Show: Everything You Need to Know, Step by Step (with 100% of book proceeds benefiting ARF), and, of course, meeting some of the dogs and cats currently up for adoption. Visitors will be treated to a look at the rooms, from Brady's "well-worn country farmhouse sitting room" and Drake's “Turkish Delight” room, pulled elegantly together with Eastern inspiration, to Hart's canine-inspired "The Dog Portrait Sitting Room."

Chaired by Gordon Hoppe, Gigi Mahon, Sandra McConnell and Jeff Pfeifle along with Vice Chairs Peter Hallock, Lisa McCarthy and Marshall Watson, the Showhouse and sale will raise funds for the ARF Adoption Center, which actively rescues and cares for, shelters, and finds homes for dogs and cats. All furnishings in the Showhouse are for sale. The Showhouse opens on May 30 with a 5 p.m. exclusive preview ($250 per ticket) and 6 p.m. for general admission ($150 per ticket), and will be open to the public on May 31 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for a $10 suggested donation.
Additional events include the center's 29th Annual ARF Garden Tour, which will take place on June 20 with a self-guided tour through the Village of Southampton from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., followed by a cocktail party at Blue Haven, the home of Lisa and Donald Jackson; and ARF’s Bow Wow Meow Ball on August 15, with a catered dinner provided by Glorious Foods, dancing courtesty of the Peter Duchin Orchestra, and a silent and live auction, all benefiting the center's work.
