High Point, North Carolina might be the hub of furniture manufacturing, but it’s also becoming a hot spot for antiques. Next week, October 13-18, the Antique and Design Center (ADC) in Market Square is celebrating its fourth High Point Market and unveiling a cast of over 70 antique dealers and artisans ready to show designers what they’ve got.
“We’re seeing people who say they haven’t been to High Point in years,” said Karen Luisana, owner and operator of the center. “They’re coming back because the Antique element has provided a new intriguing twist for them.”
Luisana has been an antiques dealer and interior designer for over 30 years. She found her passion for antiques early on when working for Alderman studios, spending her weekends at flea markets buying and selling antiques.

Many years later, Lusiana branched out to create her own business, Luisana Design and Antiques, which showed at High Point for eight markets out of a tiny showroom.
Not long after, Lusiana was approached about the opportunity to create something much bigger for High Point, and the ADC was born. The Center opened for the first time in October of 2010 with 54 antique dealers on board. Fast forward to present time, Lusiana has partnered with Amanda Kinney and they have taken the center to the next level.

“Our dealers and artisans are very diverse in the Antique Center, because we pick them carefully,” said Lusiana. “We try to represent many different design aesthetics and price points.”
ADC is hosting an opening night party on Friday 10/12, a seminar series throughout market and an auction benefitting the Second Harvest Food Bank and Habitat for Humanity on Sunday night.

The ADC is open during High Point Market in October and April each year, and by appointment only between markets.
