The first U.S. film festival celebrating the creative spirit of architecture and design will take place in October in New York and feature a dynamic selection of feature-length films, documentaries and shorts.
Events will include discussions with filmmakers, architects and designers about the design process, architecture in film, and the designs we see and use every day.
Following the Opening Night Program on October 14, film viewings will include Graphically Speaking, Legacy Bronfman, Two to Tango, Renegade Redux, Enduring Icons, Poetry in Motion, Amped & Revamped!, Thinking Big, Design/Build, Tower Power!, Public/Private, Down Under & Up, and Design Matters.
Founder Kyle Bergman, an architect, sees the Architecture and Design Film Festival is an opportunity to educate, entertain and engage all people who are excited about architecture and design. Currently he is producing a play titled The Glass House, about the design and construction of two famous houses, Mies van der Rohe's Farnsworth House and Phillip Johnson's Glass House.
The program's Advisory Board members include influencers such as Paola Antonelli, Amanda Burden, Paul Goldberger, Thomas Krens, Richard Meier, Joseph Mizzi, Bill Moggridge and Robert A.M. Stern.
Tickets go on sale September 30 here.
