Look Up Film Challenge
The Look Up Film Challenge, which is organized in partnership with the American Institute of Architects, “aims to unite filmmakers and architects to shine a light on the unique and important contributions of architects around the country,” and asks filmmakers to share their vision in a two-to-three-minute video demonstrating the power of architecture to unite communities and provide solutions. As the organization notes, “It’s time two great storytellers came together—filmmakers and architects—to shine a light on the innovative design work being done all over the country.” Film submissions “should explore how architecture has solved a problem facing us today. It can be on any scale you like, from the smallest building to the entire nation.” Learn more and register by July 10.

AIANY COTE Awards
The COTE Awards. established in 2014, by the AIANY Committee on the Environment, “recognize design that brings us closer to solving critical issues facing our communities as achieving the highest level of intention possible in the field of architecture.” As AIA explains, “By honoring innovative projects, we seek to provide a collective resource to all firms looking to achieve socially and environmentally responsible design.” Apply by September 16.
