Feb 14, 2017

The American Society of Interior Designers and the International Well Building Institute, working “to engage the interior design community to accelerate the integration of health and wellness in the built environment,” will host a seminar tomorrow evening on the topic of healthy interior design and its marketability, as well as offering insight into the new WELL standard using the new ASID headquarters office as a case study.

“WELL Designed: Demonstrating the Positive Impact of Interior Design” will feature ASID CEO Randy Fiser in discussion with Elizabeth Miles, director of Delos Solutions. The seminar is for ASID NY Metro members and will be held at the DDB Building tomorrow night from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Stark showroom.

The WELL Building Standard, designed by Delos and overseen by the International WELL Building Institute, is the globe’s first building standard dedicated to health and wellness. “Physical and mental health issues, such as obesity, hypertension, diabetes, heart disease and stress, can all be positively influenced by the choices we make when designing our workplace,” ASID notes in its description of the seminar. “Using research to evaluate organizational behavior and LEED and WELL Building standards to design ASID’s new office, explore the principles to creating a healthy work environment and the protocols and culture needed to achieve wellness.”
