Los Angeles-based interior and product designer Barbara Barry will join a list of seasoned designers when she’s honored as the 2014 Design Icon during Winter Las Vegas Market, January 26-30. Previous Design Icons include Vladimir Kagan, Juan Montoya, Vicente Wolf, Christopher Guy, Larry Laslo, Roger Thomas, Jamie Drake and Alexa Hampton.
Kravet, Visual Comfort and Global Views are some of Barry’s brand partners with showrooms at Las Vegas Design Center, all of which will be open during the upcoming Market with many of her product designs available.
“The incomparable Barbara Barry is truly an American classic in the world of interior design,” said Bob Maricich, chief executive officer of International World Market Centers. “The imprint she has made in all facets of her work, and on the industry as a whole, is nothing short of remarkable. We are delighted to present Barbara Barry with the esteemed Design Icon award, which is the centerpiece of our programming roster at the Winter Market.”
"As a self-taught designer who has endeavored to make her mark in this industry, it means so much to me to be recognized,” said Barry. “I believe that we are called to offer our unique gift and I thank the Las Vegas Market from the bottom of my heart for recognizing mine.”
The Design Icon presentation will take place on Tuesday, January 28, at 11:00 a.m. in Building B. The event will include a presentation by Barry, followed by a Q&A with Maricich. Immediately following the presentation will be a book signing and meet and greet reception located at Global Views (A-153).
