Boffi SoHo sows seeds of innovation with GrowNYC’s Project Farmhouse
Apr 25, 2017

Project Farmhouse is a sustainability and education center run by GrowNYC, designed to help New Yorkers become more sustainable. Boffi SoHo provided its Xila kitchen model, custom designed and built for the space; the Boffi SoHo Teaching Kitchen, as it’s known, is outfitted with Gaggenau appliances and will be used for cooking classes and nutrition education, including chef-led programs.

The Xila Kitchen system was first developed in the 1970s.

“A commitment to eco-sustainability has always been a part of the Boffi identity and the launch of the Boffi SoHo Teaching Kitchen further emphasizes that pledge,” says Davide Cremese, CEO of Boffi USA. “We’re very pleased to have the opportunity to contribute to a project that will have such an important impact on the local community.”

The Xila kitchen has been manufactured since 1972, designed by Italian architect Luigi Massoni as the first kitchen system of its kind without any detailing such as handles or drawers.
