Boston Design Market kicks off
Oct 4, 2016

The Boston Design Market returns October 5 and 6 at the Boston Design Center, celebrating the center’s 30th anniversary with presentations from Chad Stark, senior vice president at Stark Carpet and president of the Decorative Furnishings Association, and interior designer Hutton Wilkinson, as well as a crowd of 2,500-plus designers, architects, students and other visitors.

“The past 10 years have seen a shift in the way people engage with home furnishings and designers, so with this year’s Design Market, we hope to bring professionals and consumers into the same space to explore new trends, technologies, and what the Boston Design Market has to offer,” says Michael Phillips of Jamestown, the development company that manages the Boston Design Center.

The design center has moved from a trade-only model to an open-to-the-public one, inviting the public in to browse its 1,200 product lines.

“As technology evolves, there’s a new generation of consumers looking for easily accessible design inspiration, and the Boston Design Center is meeting that demand through opening its doors to the public and hosting events like Design Market,” says Stark. “It’s been a pleasure working with the team behind Design Market 2016 as we celebrate the center’s 30th anniversary and encourage everyone from professional designers to enthusiastic consumers to browse showrooms and be inspired by design.”
