Submissions are due by September 16 for the AIANY Committee on the Environment Awards, which honor “results-oriented achievements in the urban context,” recognizing design that is “beautiful, timeless and measurable,” according to the organization.

Jurors for this year’s competition include James Barnes, partner, Foster + Partners; Fiona Cousins, principal, Arup’s New York office; Joann Gonchar, senior editor, Architectural Record; John H. Lee, deputy director for green buildings and energy efficiency, NYC Mayor’s Office of Sustainability; and Timothy McDonald, president, Onion Flats.
Founded in 2014 to recognize and promote socially and environmentally responsible design, the competition is open to projects built and completed after January 1, 2010, and at least three months before the deadline, in addition to meeting a number of other criteria. The winners will be announced on October 24.
