The American Society of Interior Designers, Illinois Chapter’s (ASID-IL) 12th annual Interior Design Excellence Award Competition will showcase environments that have influenced beauty and function in the residential and commercial sector this past year.
ASID-IL will introduce the “Rising Star Award,” which will go to an ASID-IL emerging professional in both the commercial and residential arenas, and the “Designer of Distinction Award,” which will honor a designer who has been an active member of the organization, demonstrated years of design excellence and a distinguished portfolio of work. ASID-IL will also award the “ASID-IL Gives Back Award” to a member who has demonstrated outstanding industry support and community service. Two other new features this year: Those eligible will be able to re-submit projects that have not yet won an award, and all entrants will have to include a headshot with their entries as a new submission standard.
The awards will be announced at ASID-IL’s annual awards program, Celebration of Design, at The Ivy Room at Tree Studios in Chicago on Friday, Sept. 18. ASID CEO Randy Fiser will give a presentation on how design matters during the awards celebration.
ASID Professional Members, Allied Members, Associate Members, Industry Partner Members, ASID Student Chapter Members and IIDA Members, as well as non-members of ASID or IIDA who are registered interior designers in the state of Illinois, are eligible to participate. Entries will be accepted from Friday, May 1, at noon until Friday, June 26, at 5 p.m.
Any non-members who win a 2015 Design Excellence Award must become an ASID or IIDA member to enter the competition in 2016 and beyond.
More information, including submission instructions and requirements, can be found online.
