Creative/Interior Designers/Architects
Rio Hamilton has joined Manhattan Renovations, where he will manage business development and all new business relationships. He'll also take requests for new bids, coordinate with the company's estimators, and liaison with project managers. His past experience includes business development at luxury furniture, interior design and business management firms.
Lauder Bowden has joined Zimmerman Design Collaborative as a creative director. Bowden began his career with designer-architect George Nelson and later started working on his own in design, interiors, furniture design, graphic design and branding.
Robert Ceretti, AIA, LEED AP, has joined TPG Architectures Retail Studio after serving as founding principal of R. CERETTI + associates.
Jennifer Kenson, IIDA, EDAC, has been appointed principal, Healthcare Interior Design at architecture firm Francis Cauffman. Her clients include Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, the North Shore Long Island Jewish Healthcare System, St. Josephs Regional Medical Center, Main Line Health, Drexel University Medical College, the Childrens National Medical Center, St. Michaels Medical Center, and Montefiore Medical Center.
Frederick McSwain, of Poltrona Frau, Cappellini, Bernhardt Design and his eponymous studio, has been appointed creative officer of the promotional product and custom gifting studio LR Paris. McSwain will develop product for the American Express Black Card and hospitality items for the recently opened Baccarat Hotel, among other design projects.

Mona Delia has stepped down from her role as vice president of communications at High Point Market Authority. Her position was eliminated; some of her responsibilities will be assumed by the team at Emisare, the creative communications agency based in Greensboro.
Maureen Azzato has been named chief brand officer for HFN, responsible for all editorial and content management, strategic planning and brand marketing for the publication. She previously served as president of Azzato Enterprises, and as vice president, editorial director and publisher for Convenience Store News.
Scott Franz has been named publisher of HFN by Progressive Business Media (PBM). Franz most recently worked with BNP Media, where he led sales for six publications in the building supply business and served as publisher for one of the titles, Supply House Times, for six years.
Colette Sabins will be leaving HL Group, where she was account manager, to do in-house PR for The Rug Company. She will support Rosie Byford, U.S. head of marketing and PR.
Craig Cross has joined the DFA team as director of public relations and community outreach. Cross has worked in business and organizational development for 25 years in a variety of industries, with the last nine years spent in architecture and design. He led the marketing strategy for Seattle Design Center, and led the founding and development of the Seattle Design District Association.
Michelle DiLello left her role as vice president at Susan Grant Lewin Associates after 11 years to join Blue Medium as vice president of their Architecture + Design division working with clients including David Brody Bond, Friedman Benda, Dinosaur Designs, WeR2 and 551W21.
Lindsey Love has left her role after a year and a half as public relations and events coordinator at 1stdibs.
Evan Rome has joined Karla Otto as its design and lifestyle manager and will be assisting with press relations for Boffi, DEDON, Cappellini, Cassina, Poltrona Frau and Richard Ginori.
Jana Montero has been appointed vice president of communications at UpSpring PR. Montero, who was one of the company's original employees, will be responsible for overseeing the direction and organization of all public relations efforts. Prior to joining UpSpring PR in 2012 as a communications director in 2012, Montero worked as an editor at Hospitality Design magazine.
Barbara Viteri, CEO of Viteri Style Management and Designerlebrity, has been appointed contributing design editor for Style&Redefine magazine, a newly established online publication. She will oversee all interior design article submissions and will also share interviews and event coverage with celebrity interior designers across the new Designerlebrity platform.
Kim Gonthier is a new partner at Lisa Davis PR. Kim arrives with more than 25 years of experience working with creative teams and clients at agencies in San Francisco and London.
Sales
Gretchen Auer has accepted a position as account manager at Tufenkian Carpets. She was previously in sales at Stark Carpet for more than nine years.
Scott Hart is the newest member of the Martin Patrick Evan sales force for the Southern California territory. Prior to taking on the role, Hart worked at Brunschwig & Fils, as well as at an international design showroom selling textile lines, luxury linens and custom furniture and drapery hardware.
Liz Graham has been named vice president of sales and customer service for Wayfair. Before taking on her current role, she led information technology operations for HubSpot.
Laurie Hilburg has joined Rago Auctions as client services representative in the greater Naples, Florida, area, where she opened the Naples office and is handling consignments for auction or private sale of modern design, jewelry, fine art, decorative arts, Asian and other specialties. Hilburg comes from Rago's client services team in New Jersey, where she assisted buyers and sellers at previews, appraisal events and auctions.
Manufacturing/Retail
Ron Kass was promoted to chief executive officer at Hunter Douglas North America, starting July 1, from his current role as president and chief operating officer. Marv Hopkins, current chairman and chief executive officer, will be retiring but will continue serving as chairman emeritus. Kass, who first joined the organization in 2005, was promoted to president and chief operating officer in January 2014 and previously served as president of the Hunter Douglas Design Products Group and the Independent Fabricator Group of companies and as executive vice president of marketing.
Cindy Morris has been named president and CEO of the Dallas Market Center after serving as chief operating officer since 2002. Current president and CEO Bill Winsor will shift into a new, active role as chairman emeritus.
Master installer Bob Margies has joined Merida as the company's director of service and installation. Margies' 25-plus years of experience include experience as a professional installer, most recently at MHS Interior Carpet Design in Charlotte, North Carolina, the successful installation practice he owned and operated for nine years.
Education
Kirk E. Pillow will become the next provost at Pratt Institute in July 2015. Pillow is currently the interim president at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where he served as provost from 2011 to 2014.
Designer Constantin Boym has been named industrial design chair within the School of Design at Pratt Institute. He will succeed Scott Lundberg, who has been in the role since fall 2014. Boym is founder of Boym Partners Inc., an award-winning design studio that he runs with Laurene Leon Boym. Boym served as professor and director of Graduate Design Studies at Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar from 2010 to 2012, and as faculty and program coordinator at Parsons School of Design from 1987 to 2000.
