Design Miami/ premieres next week in Basel
Jun 12, 2015

Equal parts marketplace, living museum and open forum, Design Miami/ is returning for its tenth year alongside Art Basel from June 16 to 21 in Switzerland. Tech innovations, product collaborations and a newly launched award are just a handful of this year’s brand-new offerings. Read on for the highlights:
Chromatropic, a new textile designed by Design Miami/ in collaboration with Pierre Frey, captures the colorful energy of Miami with original, hand-drawn patterns taken from Pierre Frey’s archives and collaged with a camo-inspired design that conjures the heat and the excitement of the city. In addition to informing the fair's aesthetic, the textile will also appear in a Hentsch Man–created capsule collection, with the Hentsch Man anorak, hat and sneakers available in limited edition, as well as a specially produced J. Crew Chromatropic pocket square, on sale at the on-site Basel pop-up store.

Hentsch Man items feature a special Pierre Frey-Design Miami/ textile.
Artsy is bridging the gap between art lovers from afar and the fair as the exclusive online partner of Design Miami/ Basel by displaying works from participating galleries online via the website and app. The Artsy app will also help exhibit attendees plan their visits, contact galleries, research exhibitors and pieces and navigate the fair’s many features.
