Design on a Dime heads to Brooklyn for the first time

Design on a Dime is now heading to Brooklyn, running October 6 to 9 in Industry City. Twenty emerging and established interior designers from the area will transform 20 rooms, which will be shoppable for furniture, art, and home decor at discounts of up to 80 percent. Proceeds from Design on a Dime Brooklyn Outpost will benefit Housing Works programs.

“Brooklyn has become a design, art, and cultural hub of NYC and the world. We wanted to find a fun and unique way to highlight that, so bringing Design on a Dime to Brooklyn was a perfect fit,” says Andrew Greene, SVP of development, marketing and businesses at Housing Works. “You can expect Brooklyn Outpost to be innovative, fresh and funky, with the same great deals and design found at our other Design on a Dime events.”

The Brooklyn event is chaired by Design on a Dime founder James Huniford, with co-chairs Michael Boodro, editor in chief of Elle Decor; Andrew Kimball, president of Industry City; world-renowned photographer Douglas Friedman; and Ellen O’Neill, creative director at Benjamin Moore & Co. It is sponsored by Elle Decor, Benjamin Moore, Aviation American Gin and Owl’s Brew.

Design on a Dime is held yearly in Manhattan, Miami and now Brooklyn, involving 100-plus designers and raising more than $10 million since its founding in 2004.
