SALES, MANUFACTURING & RETAIL

Curt Kendall will be leaving his role as director of marketing at Holly Hunt after 11 years with the company. As for his next move, Kendall says he’s “looking forward to new challenges and getting out of [his] comfort zone.”

Parachute Home recently expanded its leadership team with the appointment of David Heikka as director of retail. An interior designer, Heikka was most recently the director of design/store planning for Victoria's Secret.

Furniture consignment marketplace Viyet recently named Alexandra Ashton Gilbert as vice president of sales and merchandising for its 20th-century and contemporary design sectors.

Jason Foy has been named senior vice president at Design Furniture Holdings, the parent company of Ferrell Mittman, Avery Boardman and Carlyle. He has held a similar position at Heritage Home Group and is based in Greensboro.

After eight years with Pollack/Weitzner, Melissa Villa will be leaving her role as New York territory manager. She is transitioning to her new role as New York contract sales director for Chilewich.

The Alpha Workshops has named Jennifer M. Awe to director for The Alpha Workshops Studio School. She was previously an educator and higher education administrator at visual and performing arts colleges.

Century Furniture has promoted Keith Nichols to vice president of manufacturing. Previously serving as the plant manager, Nichols will now be at the helm of the Hickory, North Carolina–based company’s manufacturing facilities, as well as contributing to its strategic growth.

LIXIL Canada Inc., parent company of American Standard, DXV and GROHE, recently announced the appointment of its first female president and general manager, Valerie Malone. Her resumé lists leadership positions at consumer goods brands PepsiCo Canada, Whirlpool Corporation and LG Electronics.

Castelle recently added to its management team, with the appointment of three new members. Ben Radoll joins as vice president of merchandising and market development, Stephanie Pereira has been named vice president of sales for the eastern United States, and George Gikas was appointed to vice president of contract sales.

Leading stationery and lifestyle brand Rifle Paper Co. recently appointed Trish Whalen to the company’s newly created brand president role. After garnering more than a decade in brand development positions at Kate Spade and Draper James, Whalen will now lead new initiatives to help grow the Winter Park, Florida–based company.

Perennials and Sutherland welcomed new president Ted Chappel to the team last month. He was previously president of Ann Sacks and SieMatic Möbelwerke USA. With the appointment, Ann Sutherland and David Sutherland move to the roles of CEO and chairman of the board, respectively.

Brian Casey has been named executive director for the International Textile Alliance (ITA). Formerly the CEO for the Center for Exhibition Industry Research and High Point Market Authority, Casey will aid in the organization’s future growth strategy.

The American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Foundation recently elected Janet Guy to its 22-member board of directors for a three-year term. Guy is president and owner of Prestige Arts and Art Trends, a California-based wall decor manufacturing company.

MEDIA & PR
Giulio Capua, formerly the publisher of Architectural Digest, joined Meredith Corporation in mid-April to oversee its portfolio of luxury titles, including Departures, Food & Wine and Travel + Leisure.

NYC&G and HC&G recently honored Caity St John with a promotion to associate editor.

Rachel Lexier, formerly of LUXE Interior + Design, was recently hired by SHoP Architects as a PR manager.

DESIGN & ARCHITECTURE
DMG Interiors and Josh Hildreth Interiors recently added to their management teams with the appointment of Robert Cox as design director. Having sharpened his skills at notable firms like SOM, HOK, Gensler, and most recently, RD Jones, Cox will focus on client leadership across all facets of both firms.

New York–based architecture and design firm DXA Studio has welcomed Silvia Ott and Araz Akbarian to its team as senior architect and senior designer, respectively.

FAIRS
Contemporary art fair founder and marketing professional Helen Allen has been appointed to executive director of New York City’s Winter Antiques Show.

The International Interiors Show in Cologne (IMM Cologne) has named Claire Steinbrück to director. Steinbrück, who comes most recently from Koelnmesse, will succeed Uwe Deitersen, who will be moving to the newly created position of director of customer relations for the furniture industry.
