"It was a fun night filled with compassion, crafts and cookies—simple things all children deserve but not all children receive,” said actress Nia Vardalos. “During the holidays the Children’s Action Network makes sure the children living in foster care are not forgotten. At their fund raising parties like this one, money is raised, so gifts are purchased for kids. And with the Heart Gallery on display, more people find out about the 500,000 kids living in American Foster Care. I love the events put together by Jennifer Perry and the nice people at the Children’s Action Network, because the holidays are about giving—and cookies."

The Children’s Action Network harnesses the power of the entertainment community to increase awareness about children’s issues, and is currently dedicated to finding homes for the more than 107,000 children in the United States who are waiting for an adoptive family and improving outcomes for the more than 500,000 children in foster care.
