Now through May 12: Thrift Studio, a bi-annual pop-up shop in Dallas created to provide financial viability and fundraising for Dwell with Dignity by selling overstock of donated, gently used furniture, housewares, accessories and high-end designer finds to the public. All proceeds benefit Dwell with Dignity.
Participants include the Container Store (pictured below), Horchow, Wisteria and Melissa Woody.
Dwell with Dignity is a non-profit group of interior designers and volunteers dedicated to creating inspiring homes for families struggling with homelessness and poverty. They provide full-service installations of furnishings and art, bedding and kitchen supplies, and even stock food in the pantry. The mission is to help families escape poverty and homelessness, one household at a time through the belief that changing a person’s surroundings can change their outlook on life. Exposing children (especially) to a nurturing home environment, including good design and art, can inspire a standard of living that will carry-over to future generations. Exposing parents to this same environment will allow them to see the positive impact it has on their family; inspiring them to maintain a standard of living they can be proud of and thrive in.
