Furniture app-retailer receives funding from Tinder founder
Jul 14, 2016

Homee, a furniture-design app and furniture retailer that connects consumers to free designer services, has received funding from dating app Tinder’s founder Sean Rad and other investors. To date, the app has raised over $7 million in funding. It connects users with designers who choose furniture to match specified style and budget. Explains Rad, “What everyone sees today is merely a step in the team’s vision to dramatically simplify the process of buying furniture. I love their vision, and I’m a big believer in Beatrice [Fischel-Bock, co-founder and CEO of Homee] and the rest of the talented team.”

“The furniture and interior design industries are extremely fragmented and have failed to address new shopping patterns of today’s on-the-go consumers,” said Fischel-Bock. “Homee is ushering in a new way to shop for furniture using conversational commerce and an on-demand design service. With this investment, we are thrilled to continue growing exponentially and bring mobile to the forefront of our industry by tapping into a generation that demands instant gratification at their fingertips, which is exactly what Homee brings to its users.”

The app provides free design advice to U.S. clients, with unlimited revisions. Homee explains, “We make money like a normal furniture retailer, when you buy furniture! We source our products from trusted and quality wholesale furniture manufacturers and never mark up any products.”
