Among the opportunities for young designers are the Young Creation Award: Upcycling, a competition that showcases the work of textile projects made from recycled materials; and Heimtextil CAMPUS, which will unveil the work of student designers focused on the issue of mobility in the home.

The show will also feature a development program called New & Next, featuring work of start-ups aged 5 and under, including Connie Luisa’s Home (Taiwan), Format Raisin (France), Lösbrock Design (Germany), Marjolein Odink (Switzerland), Martina Teepe Design Berlin (Germany), Naghsh Negaran Pendar (Iran), NuPrimary (USA), SC Touch (Austria), Shinrindo (Japan), Studio RIIS (Denmark) and The Pattern Boutique (U.K.).

“Good designs are what really make a collection attractive,” says Sabine Scharrer, manager of Heimtextil. “They are the first thing a customer sees. We’re proud of the continued growth in exhibitors and the international variety amongst the textile designers presenting here.”
