IIDA has announced the winners of two international competitions that celebrate innovation in design: The Interior Design Competition, for interior design/architecture projects completed by firms of any size, and the Will Ching Design Competition, for commercial interior design projects by firms with five employees or less.

“The Interior Design Competition, as well as the Will Ching Design Competition, honors the highest level of design achievement from firms whose innovation and creative execution pushes the boundaries of what interior environments can achieve. We are so pleased to once again recognize projects that positively impact the lives of those who use the spaces and inspire the design community at large,” said IIDA executive vice president and CEO Cheryl S. Durst.

The judging panel for both competitions included Mari Balestrazzi, vice president, design services, Hyatt Hotels Corporation; Anne Cunningham, principal, NBBJ Architects; and Scott Hierlinger, design director, Nelson.
“This year, the Interior Design Competition and Will Ching Design Competition both attracted a number of sophisticated interior design projects from firms around the world,” said Hierlinger. “The winners of this year’s competitions illustrated creative, thoughtful solutions and elevated aesthetics—representing the best in international interior design.”
