In SF, Minted opens its first-ever brick-and-mortar shop
May 27, 2016

Minted has opened a pop-up shop in San Francisco’s Union Square. Designed by Kendall Ermshar and Minted founder and CEO Mariam Naficy, Minted Local is the brand’s first-ever brick-and-mortar store, and will be open through October. The shop spotlights the work of local designers, including art, home goods, and stationery from the company’s network of independent artists and designers. It particularly focuses on the work of regional California artists with original art and decorative items on sale for the first time in the company’s history. The store, which opened last Friday, is donating 50 percent of all on-site sales from its first week to Every Mother Counts, a non-profit founded by Christy Turlington Burns that’s dedicated to making pregnancy and childbirth safer.

“Our crowdsourcing process, sourcing from independent artists and allowing people to vote to tell us what to sell, allows us to surface the best, freshest and most unique art and design in the world,” says Naficy. “Now, we bring our consumers closer to these works and the process of creating them with quality.”

The pop-up will host workshops, artists in residence, appointment-only styling services, and interactive crafts for children. Find Minted Local at 222 Grant Avenue, San Francisco.
