Jan 6, 2017

Passagen 2017 will run January 16 to 22 in Cologne, Germany, celebrating trends in interior design and featuring international manufacturers, furniture stores, initiatives, galleries, showrooms, networks, design offices, institutes and universities.

Vintage carpets from Remade, Ewald Beyer’s Munich-based carpet design company, will take center stage at SMOW Cologne (left); while carpets from Berlin-based label The Knots will showcase new and old designs at the Bodenkultur ten Eikelder showroom.

Cologne-based interior design and furniture firms will participate, including Giorgetti, Fermob and Occhio, and companies including VitrA Bad, Durable, Markilux, and Garten+Design will open their showroom doors.

Passagen runs concurrently with IMM Cologne.

Among the week’s highlights: a celebration of the Kartell and Antonio Citterio partnership, now in its 25th year; an exhibit of furniture and design from the Superstudio group of architects;  “21 Common Things,” an exhibit of everyday objects as well as furniture designed by Thomas Schnur; and an exhibition of the work of interior design scholarship students.
