Andrew Walter Raquet, head of the New York-based interior design firm Andrew Raquet Interiors, passed away on Saturday, June 14. He was 45-years-old.
Raquet grew up in Garden City, Long Island, and attended Deerfield Academy before earning a Bachelor of Arts from Columbia University. He has also studied at Parsons School of Design and at the Sotheby’s School in London.
Headquartered on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, Andrew Raquet Interior's clients were drawn to his commitment to reviving high-end, luxury design in an unpretentious, refreshed way.
Most recently, Raquet was working on projects in Manhattan; Greenwich, CT; Houston, TX; Nassau, Bahamas; and Oslo, Norway.

A favorite on the showhouse circuit, Raquet designed rooms for the French Designer Showhouse (American Hospital of Paris Foundation International Designer Foundation) in 2003 and 2005. He was invited by the Kips Bay Decorator Show House to complete a room in 2004 and has served on their Designer’s Committee ever since.

Raquet’s work has been published in House Beautiful, The New York Times and QUEST. In 2005 Raquet became a Design Consultant to BAMBOO BAMBOO, a well-regarded luxury home furnishings and gift shop in the Bahamas, with outposts in Nassau and Harbor Island.
Raquet is survived by his father Walter Raquet, mother Kristine Scerbo and his two sisters, Kim Ponce and Merridith Raquet. A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Greenwich, CT, on Thursday, June 26, at 5:00 p.m.
