Over the past few weeks, numerous design brands have completed major online overhauls—from building new features and easier navigation to rolling out e-commerce platforms and video sections. Here’s a look at what’s new from Bunny Williams Home, Treillage, Avery Boardman, de le Cuona, Kartell, Jerry Pair Leather, Imagine Tile, The High Boy, Viyet, the Boston Design Center, Cooper Hewitt, RIBA, LMNOP, and IKB: Ike Kilgerman Barkley Architects.
Bunny Williams Home has unveiled a newly redesigned website in connection with a new collection launch. The website features fresh photography, streamlined navigation, and larger images. Users may now select specific fabrics and finishes for all upholstered pieces that can be digitally draped on an item prior to purchase.
Treillage, which is owned by designer Bunny Willams, has added a bridal and gift registry to its site. It offers one-of-a-kind objects, unique tabletop pieces, home accessories and furniture. Brides can register online and instore and gift givers can access the registry both ways as well.
In conjunction with recently renovating its New York showroom, Avery Boardman has rolled out a new website with improved navigation and a host of new features. The landing pages help guide visitors through the collection and the "picture window" homepage highlights new products and collaborations. Dozens of styles have been added to the site showcasing almost the full Avery Boardman collection.
De le Cuona has launched its new e-commerce section on delecuona.co.uk called Shop the Studio. This curated gallery of handcrafted items includes cushions, throws, small readymade pieces of furniture including pill stools upholstered in heavy linen and tables topped with eel and one-off finds.
Kartell has introduced its first completely integrated online site edited and produced by YOOX Group. The e-commerce catalogue includes over 150 product lines signed by the world's most avant-garde designers. The available product categories range from furnishing accessories to decorations, to lights, fashion accessories and even a complete design for the bathroom and the table.
Jerry Pair Leather’s latest website overhaul offers new features including Shop by Color, Shop by Collection, Memo Ordering and Customer Pricing.
Imagine Tile’s new site now has a fresh new look, as well as improved functionality featuring an easy-to-read layout, larger visuals, more focused navigation topics, and an e-commerce platform that allows for samples to be ordered easily.
Antiques and Consignment
TheHighBoy.com has added a Concierge Service, a custom-sourcing program created to help interior designers and architects find era- and style-specific art and antiques easily and quickly. Design professionals are invited to email email@example.com with descriptions of specific items they're searching for, and The HighBoy team will use its extensive network of art and antique dealers to find the requested items. Designers will then receive photos, descriptions, trade pricing, and the opportunity to purchase the items before they become part of website's inventory.
Viyet has fully reimagined its website to give its community of designers and insiders a cleaner, more intuitive shopping experience. Enhancements for shoppers include more efficient navigation, better quality imagery and mobile device access.
Design centers, museums & organizations
The Boston Design Center has added a new video series to its website, featuring lectures from celebrated local and international designers. Starting with its 2014 reimagined seminar series, the center will be taping all of its events and sharing them with the design community. The first in the series, Bibliophile Boston: Spotlight on Design, was developed as an intimate salon-style book talk, moderated by Newell Turner, Editorial Director of the Hearst Design Group, with designers and authors Nina Campbell and David Kleinberg. This three-part episode is on view in the video gallery now.
In addition to Cooper Hewitt’s physical transformation, the museum now has a new name, graphic identity and website. Formally the “Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum,” the museum has been renamed “Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum,” emphasizing the museum’s heritage. The museum has taken on a bold new graphic identity designed by Pentagram with the typeface “Cooper Hewitt” designed by Chester Jenkins of Village—on display on the newly refreshed website.
The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) website, Architecture.com, combines expansive full-width photography and magazine style layouts to deliver flowing stories that can be enjoyed on all platforms. The launch is phase one of Architecture.com’s transformation from a corporate website, into a go-to destination for all those interested in architecture and architects. RIBA members have a dedicated section of the website where they can take advantage of research and information, insider knowledge, high-quality support services, world-class CPD and much more.
LMNOP’s new website is live with easier navigation for members. The site features “Workshops,” “Networking” and “Get Involved” tabs which assist in navigation.
IKB: Ike Kilgerman Barkley Architects’ website has a new look and a new blog, “Journal.” The blog is written by the principal architects as well as several guest bloggers. It covers topics spanning interior design, Modernist architecture, antiques, region-specific architecture and engineering.
