It Takes Two: The latest designer collaborations
Feb 3, 2016

The year may have scarcely begun, but collaborations between creatives and manufacturers are already in full swing. Discover what five of the top pairings have yielded, from fabrics and furniture to fireplaces.

Suzanne Tucker and Chesney’s
San Francisco-based designer Suzanne Tucker has debuted a handcrafted luxury fireplace collection with Chesney’s. The collection, drawing influence from the designer’s stints in France, Italy and England, features four designs: The Bellagio, The Provence, The Randolph, and The Voltaire. The collection will officially launch with a party at the Chesney’s showroom in the D&D Building tomorrow.

Laura Kirar and Duralee-Highland Court
Laura Kirar Exclusively for Highland Court Vol. II features 117 woven patterns and prints, many of which were gleaned from designer Laura Kirar’s sketchbook and photo journals. “I see this second collection for Highland Court as a creative evolution of influences and a coordinating palette to the first. I think the influences of my global travels are apparent,” Kirar says. “The foundation for me is always nature, but there is a layering of different experiences and locales that helped me produce a collection evocative of many places.”

Arte and Le Corbusier
Arte has also collaborated with the estate of Le Corbusier to design wallcoverings based on the Polychromie Architecturale color set, with a new, expanded collection, “Dots 2,” now arriving in showrooms nationwide. The collection includes 60-plus colorways and combinations and is available through representing Arte showrooms nationwide.
