The Kips Bay Decorator Showhouse kicked off its 40th anniversary on Monday night with the President's Dinner gala at the Mandarin Oriental. Nearly 500 guests filled the ballroom, including: Margaret Russell, John McEnroe, Dennis Basso, Lauren Dupont, Bunny Williams, Jeremiah Goodman, James Druckman, Charlotte Moss, Doug Wilson, Thom Filicia, Bettina Zilkha, Peter & Jamee Gregory, Valentin & Yaz Hernandez, as well as gala co-chairs Jamie Drake, Aerin Lauder, Victoria Hagan and Richard Mishaan. The evening was sponsored by Architectural Digest.

The show house, held in a high-rise west side building for the first time in its history, will be open to the public from May 16-June 14, seven days a week. To date, over four decades, the show houses have raised more than $17 million for the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club.
Hearst Design Group announced plans for an inaugural lecture series titled “The Best Of” to be hosted by Sotheby’s at $75 ticket per lecture (or $150 for a package of three) will include an on-site lunch or cocktail reception, depending on the hour, as well as entry and a shuttle service to the Show House. The schedule is as follows:

Tuesday, May 22nd at 11 a.m. Bunny Williams presents “Making the Home Come to Life”.

Thursday, May 31st at 6 p.m. Wine Tasting with Eli Rodriguez.
Tuesday, June 1st at 11 a.m. Miles Redd presents “Fashion and Inspiration in Interior Design”.
Tuesday, June 5th at 11 a.m. Tom Savage presents "Addicted to Old Houses: Iconic Rooms and Influential Interiors".
