Kips Bay showhouse location announced

A 1905 neo-Georgian-style red brick townhouse at at 125 East 65th Street will be the backdrop for the 45th Kips Bay Decorator Show House, which is set to open May 2.

“The flexible floor plan will be the perfect palette for this year’s designers," says interior designer Bunny Williams, the showhouse chair. "We look forward to another successful Show House season, to raise critical funds for New York City’s youth.”

Designed by artist and architect Charles A. Platt, the house includes original details, such as a herringbone floor, painted beam ceilings and fireplace mantel. Twenty to-be-determined designers will decorate each of the home's rooms.

“Each year, the Kips Bay Decorator Show House proves to be an unparalleled display of incredible interior design talent, raising critical funds for New York City children through the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club,” says New York Design Center CEO James Druckman, president of the board of the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club. “We are looking forward to opening this year’s Show House, welcoming consumers and designers alike.”

Funds raised by the showhouse, which brings in about 15,000 visitors annually, will benefit after-school and enrichment programs at he Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club.
