L.A. Art Show announces expansion
Oct 6, 2016

From January 11 to 15, 2017, the L.A. Art Show—which last year hosted 70,000 attendees—will welcome 100-plus galleries from more than 20 countries, including China, the Czech Republic, France, Japan, Mexico and the United Kingdom, to the Los Angeles Convention Center.

The show, now in its 22nd edition, will be held at the LA Convention Center.

“As Los Angeles takes its place at the vanguard of the global art scene, our ability to adapt and evolve to meet the art market’s current trends and provide strong civic support is vital,” says L.A. Art Show producer and partner Kim Martindale. “The evolving role of the art fair as a fulcrum for art commerce, connecting galleries, artists, curators and international and multigenerational collectors drives our program.”

Gallery submissions are currently being vetted and the deadline is October 10. Among the contemporary and postwar modern art featured will be paintings, sculptures, drawings, performances, videos and installation pieces. The show’s opening night preview and party will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for the third year running.
