The 18th annual Los Angeles Antiques, Art + Design Show (LAAADS) taking place October 9 – 13 boasts a star-studded host committee from the worlds of entertainment, media, and the arts as well as a lineup of educational programming.

The committee members include Liv Ballard, Nate Berkus, Michael Boodro, Margaret and Joel Chen, Hunter Drohojowska-Philp, Viveca Paulin-Ferrell and Will Ferrell, Diane Keaton, Kay Saatchi, Clinton Smith, Suzanne Tucker, Trina Turk and Jonathan Skow, Newell Turner and Kelly Wearstler. The committee was selected by the Decorative Arts and Design Department headed by Wendy Kaplan and chaired by Oliver M. Furth.
Tickets are now available for the opening night party, commencing with a collector’s preview hour beginning at 6:00 p.m., followed by a cocktail reception at 7:00 pm. Proceeds will benefit the Decorative Arts and Design Council at LACMA.
From 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 11, Cedars Sinai Women’s Guild will present a lecture and luncheon with Suzanne Tucker of Tucker & Marks Design. Tucker will be speaking and signing copies of her newly published book.

Design LA, which is hosted each year by 1stdibs, will consist of a panel moderated by Newell Turner, editor in chief of the Hearst Design Group. Titled My Big Break: Design Stars Discuss Game—Breaking Moments in Their Careers—the panel will include renowned interior decorators Eric Cohler, Cliff Fong, Mary McDonald, Charlotte Moss and Wearstler. The talk takes place from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. on Friday, October 11.

The Genesis of Great Design takes place on Saturday, September 12, from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. featuring Karen Marx, executive director of home furnishings for ELLE DÉCOR. The intimate discussion on fashion in the home explores design inspirations with interior designer Jeffrey Alan Marks and Mark Wiesmayr, design director of AG.
On Sunday, October 13, the Culver City–based Willows Community School will host its first inaugural educational program in conjunction with the LAADS, providing a range of opportunities for their students to both learn and teach about design and the arts.
An exhibition of student work will feature photography developed under the direction and mentorship of Design Leadership Award honorees Annie Kelly and Tim Street-Porter, displayed alongside a stunning retrospective of Street-Porter’s significant work.
