Interior designer and award winning design blogger Kimberly Ward created the African-American Top 20 Interior Designers List, which first appeared on her blog, Pinkeggshell, in 2012. Established in 2008, Pinkeggshell has become a go to resource for information about the African-American experience in interior design. Pinkeggshell features various African-American interior designers, showcases stores and products by African-Americans and features tips on how to create homes that reflect the culture and lifestyle.
The release of the first issue of Iconic Homes magazine will also launch May 8. The magazine is a byproduct of the event’s success and is geared towards reaching its readers through social media, digital e-blasts and sponsorship events.
