lavish! was the brainchild of veteran social media enthusiast, Shameeka Ayers of The Broke Socialite, who created the first-ever "unconference" tailored for the lifestyle social networker.
According to Ayers, lavish! will be a highly interactive environment geared toward fostering education and networking in the lifestyle social media community. Presentations will cover technology such as blogs, Facebook, Twitter and other social media tools and how they apply to social media engagement.
Attendees will be invited to create educational content and evolve into content contributors on-the-spot via structured sessions. Topics include: Not Just Another Pretty Face: Finding Your Unique Voice and Your Personal Blogging Style; The Business of Style: Turning Your Blog into your Business; Blogging & PR: Making the Connection; A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words: Photography & Social Media; Social Media 101: A Beginner’s Bootcamp; But Blogging IS A Job!: Helping Your Family and Friends Get It; Productive Partnerships: How To Position Yourself To Work With PR Agencies & Brands; Work/Life Balance For Social Media Enthusiasts and Professionals; and Social Media Meanies: How To Deal Without Melting Down.
The conference advisory board panel inlcudes Annette Joseph, contributor to Better Homes and Gardens, People and NBC’s Today Show; Ginny Branch Stelling, columnist at design*sponge and Cynthia Bogart, founder of The Daily Basics, among others.
Attendees must have an appreciation for lifestyle social media—whether a hobbyist, seasoned blogger or someplace in between.
The conference will take place at the Mansion on Peachtree.
