Lighting design competition finalists announced

An expert panel including Tom Dixon, Michael Anastassiades, Nancy Bendtsen of Inform Interiors, Omer Arbel of Bocci Design, John Patkau of Patkau ArchitectsChad Falkenberg and Kelly Reynolds of Falken Reynolds, and designers from ANDLIGHT chose this year’s LAMP (Lighting Architecture Movement Project) top ten finalists. The international lighting design competition was based on aesthetics, marketability, innovation and the designers’ interpretation of the theme, Crystallize. Ten lamps were selected from 90-plus submissions from around the world.

The top 10 finalists include:


• Ribbon by Brad Turner from Vancouver, BC, Canada


• Eleni by Matthew Kennedy from Chilliwack, BC, Canada


• Braque’s Colander by Amy Lin and James Chavel from Toronto, ON, Canada


• Gweilo by Alex Josephson from Toronto, ON, Canada


• Boro Boro Light by Neal Aronowitz from Portland, OR, USA


• Crystal Cluster Chandelier by Lynn Read from Portland, OR, USA


• The BIT Light by Jin Choi from Brookline, MA, USA


• Woodhedron by Julie Morringello from Stonington, CT, USA


• Duality by Matthew Conley from Sheffield, UK


• Light Trooper by Anki Gneib from Stockholm, Sweden
