After several reports* suggesting that Lonny magazine had stopped publishing, editor in chief Michelle Adams yesterday released a link to the new March cover and several photos from the issue via Twitter (@Lonnymag).
The link took followers to the Lonny Blog, which showed a glimpse of the upcoming issue featuring Anna Burke with the caption: "The team at Lonny is excited to let you know that we will have a big announcement to make in a couple of weeks! In the meantime, we couldn't resist sharing a sneak peek of our March issue."
The page immediately generated comments and questions from readers: "Was there a Jan/Feb issue?" and "When will the next issue be coming out?"
Adams replied, "Unfortunately, no, there will not be a Jan/Feb issue as our team had to temporarily shift our focus to build a better business model. We do, however, plan on publishing more frequently in 2012, so there will be no lack of content coming your way ... We are currently in negotiations and think you'll be pretty pleased with the progress we've made, so please stay tuned!"
*Stylist Home ran a story titled, "Lonny magazine no longer publishing" based on a report in WWD which wrote, "Insiders said Lonny is not publishing now and has put its staff on furlough." Adams declined to comment in both stories.
