American home furnishings company, MacKenzie-Childs, known for its whimsical and distinctive line of products, made its debut at Saks Fifth Avenue's New York City flagship store this month and will continue to launch at 11 other Saks locations throughout the holiday season. Saks Fifth Avenue will feature a wide range of products including furniture, ceramics, enamelware, lighting and accessories. “We are excited to introduce the full collection of MacKenzie-Childs in our Home & Gift departments, where it will become a prominent brand for us. The color and novelty in the line as well as pieces that embody both quality and value are all things our core customer is looking for,” says Thomas Ott, SVP General Merchandising Manager Men’s & Home. MacKenzie-Childs will open additional locations throughout the month including: Tyson's Corner's, Fairfax, VA, Richmond, VA, Pittsburgh, PA, Boca Raton, FL, North Palm Beach Gardens Mall FL, Bal Harbour, FL, Miami, FL, Beachwood, OH, Indianapolis, IN, St. Louis, MO, Troy, MI and Stamford, CT. Located in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York on a 65 acre former dairy farm overlooking Cayuga Lake, MacKenzie-Childs engages more than 100 artisans and craftsmen at the company’s design and production studio. Inspired by the designs of the company’s creative director Rebecca Proctor, artisans create products that celebrate a tradition of American handcraftsmanship. In addition to its popular Courtly Check signature items, some of MacKenzie-Childs’ most popular lines including the Taylor and Piccadilly ceramic lines and unique furniture pieces will be featured at Saks Fifth Avenue. From now through through December 31, the creative team at MacKenzie-Childs has installed a holiday extravaganza at its Manhattan flagship location, bringing its rustic heritage to life in heart of midtown. The 6,000 square foot store on 57th Street is adorned with one-of-a-kind holiday items such as a gilded sleigh; a menagerie of ceramics sculpted into 10-foot Christmas tree, a giant moose head in the company’s signature Courtly Check black and white pattern; holiday mantles and colorful ornaments; glass tea kettles, pink fish chairs, tartan bells, nutcrackers, tabletop items, fanciful stockings, and tree toppers and spectacular tree skirts.
