Fair Folks & a Goat co-founders Aurora Stokowski and Anthony Mazzei are bringing Fair Folks, a unique membership-driven café, to Greenwich Village. The pair, whose previous operations included a salon-style showroom serving "dim-sum retail" on the Upper East Side and a fully immersive "everything's for sale" curated bed and breakfast in New Orleans, will open their latest venture this summer at 96 West Houston Street.
For $25 per month, members may enjoy unlimited coffee, espresso drinks, tea and lemonade, discounts on select merchandise, and access to a wide array of events including design previews, tastings, classes and shows.
Stokowski, the Creative Director, envisions Fair Folks as a stimulating alternative to the typical café outpost. “We began accepting memberships this week, and the initial response has been overwhelmingly positive," she said. "The time for this idea is now. Our generation is yearning for an alternative to the status quo. We want something new; we want something better; and we want to pay less.”
Fair Folks will also serve as a retail boutique and design emporium featuring the works of established New York designers and talented young artists, “Our vision is to democratize design, to create an appealing ‘home away from home’ that provokes thought and encourages curiosity. We believe that the more people we can introduce to design IN REAL LIFE and on a daily basis, the better off our neighborhood will be.”
