Metropolis magazine announces a raft of new staff appointments in advertising and marketing, delivering a company-wide boost in operations internally. Under the leadership of Publisher Horace Havemeyer III, magazine is poised for upcoming strategic priorities, beginning with the following appointments:
Earlier this month the magazine named Colin Villone as Advertising Director. After a dedicated career in print advertising sales for the last 20 years, and the last 9 years as Metropolis' Southwest Account Manager, Mr. Villone's move into the advertising director role will bring new business opportunities to the horizon for the magazine as he manages the sales department's core strategy. During his time with the company, he has managed the accounts of many of the major manufacturers in the architecture and interior design industry.
This month, Kimberly Taylor has returned to the magazine as Director of Marketing. Ms. Taylor will head the brand's marketing strategy to better embrace and harness developing technology, broaden audience touch points, and create forward-thinking value propositions for advertisers and industry partners. She will oversee the integration of the company's print, digital, and social communications with that of audience insight and other assets to create comprehensive marketing solutions.
In addition, the magazine has appointed Carli Heggen in the newly created role of New Media Coordinator. Ms. Heggen will be focusing on the creative and strategic development of marketing programs to strengthen, expand and promote the Metropolis brand. With a background in graphic design, branding, research and digital media, Ms. Heggen will bring a new perspective to Metropolis and a strong eye for verbal and visual communication.

In this, our 30th year of publishing Metropolis, I feel the new team will lay the foundations to our next 30 years, which will of course include the analog and digital means of communication," said Horace Havemeyer III, Founder and Publisher.
Along with these three new appointments, the editorial, art, and sales teams are working vigorously on a special issue for January 2012: the annual Game Changers Issue, which celebrates the influential leaders in design and will include a special advertising section and additional distribution. As this very important edition continues to be compiled, the staff is confident it will deliver a timeless dispatch on the ever-changing design and architecture industry—loaded with fresh, inspiring, and impactful content. The issue will hit newsstands in late January; readers may look for online content in mid-January.
