Michigan designers create vignettes to benefit arts program
Oct 25, 2016

The November 4 Michigan Design Center event Design 2 Ways will spotlight the work of 10 designers and product from five of the center’s participating showrooms.

Last year’s award-winning design, “Posh Parlor,” by designer Corey Damen Jenkins, in the MDC’s de Grimme Gallery

“Design 2 Ways was created to showcase quality furnishings and demonstrate their value as investment pieces,” says Susan Todebush, Michigan Design Center’s general manager and executive vice president. “Many of us have important furnishings within our homes, and these talented designers will show us how to incorporate new designs and accents to help our rooms evolve over time.”

Each of the five showrooms provides the same three furnishings to its two participating designers. The exhibit will kick off with a 10 a.m. designer-led discussion, followed by an open house running until 3 p.m.

Proceeds from Design 2 Ways will benefit Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center’s ArtAccess programs, which bring “hands-on experience” to those with limited access to the visual arts.
