New initiatives and "New Rules" for 2010 NYIGF winter market
Oct 24, 2009

A new marketing campaign, "New Rules," and new initiatives will be introduced at the winter 2010 market, which features a re-designed NYIGF logo, a display of cutting-edge products, and more. The winter show will present 2,800 exhibitors, 100,000 lines in 400 product categories from January 30 through Thursday, February 4 at New York City's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and Passenger Ship Terminal Pier 94. The Licensing Gallery will feature 30 companies offering art and design for sale or license. Through the gallery, home and gift manufacturers will gain access to artwork available for ready application to gift and home products. The SustainAbility: design for a better world® initiative will return and expand in 2010, with more stringent criteria for acceptance into the display of "green" gift and home products. Exhibitors whose products or production processes are eco-friendly, and whose business practices are socially responsible, will be considered for participation only if their products have "Zero Tolerance" for VOC; lead (for baby, children and food-related products); PVC, without recommendation for use and disposal, and unless repurposed; and aniline dyes, formaldehyde, chlorine (for textiles). NYIGF also will feature two educational sessions addressing green issues and opportunities during the winter 2010 market.
