A slew of new design stores, studios and showrooms have opened, or are set to open, in major markets across the country and the globe, in design centers and on the street. This list is part of an ongoing series of showroom openings* highlighting many new resources available to designers by region.
New York City
Christopher Guy’s newest showroom, located on the penthouse floor of the New York Design Center, features a 225-foot-long furniture runway which showcases a number of pieces along with beautiful cove ceilings, state of the art lighting, reeded columns, high polish white glass floors and a chained glass wall.
In last month’s round up, we highlighted 10 showrooms that opened their doors in New York City as well, including: Roche Bobois, James Huniford Design Studio, Jung Lee, ddc DESIGNPOST, Sofa.com, Doris Leslie Blau X ABC Carpet & Home, Yves Delorme in Bloomingdale’s, Sleep Studio, FENDI Casa and Baccarat.
Hammer and Spear in Los Angeles
Kristan Cunningham, host of HGTV's Design on a Dime, and husband Scott Jarrell opened a new store in April, titled Hammer and Spear, in Los Angeles' Arts District at 255 S. Santa Fe Ave. The 2,000-square-foot store carries an assortment of vintage home furnishings.
Lansky Studio has opened a new store at 1933 S. Broadway, Suite 1202. The store carries French-inspired furniture, lighting, rugs, antiques and one-of-a-kind pieces.
Angelo: Home botique in Los Angeles
Designer and television personality Angelo Surmelis opened Angelo: Home boutique at the Eastern Columbia building, 847 S. Broadway in downtown Los Angeles. The 1,500-square-foot store carries furniture, bedding, lighting and rugs.
Arteriors in the LA Mart
The LA Mart has added more than 33,000-square-feet of new showroom resources in time for the GALLA market July 17-22. Among the new showrooms are American Paper & Plastic, Arteriors, Authentic Models, Beverly Furniture, Danya B, DILA, Elantique, Judy’s Collection, Loungefly, Mark Arnold Designs, Mideko, Nasser Fine Rugs, Pizu, Quality Lines, Tesoro Décor, VH Group and World Trading.
On August 1, Casa Bonita will open a new showroom in Suite B240 at the Pacific Design Center. Home décor with a Spanish accent—Casa Bonita's collection of furniture and décor features the work of designers and skillful artisans in what has become a modern version of the Spanish and Mediterranean style. The new showroom will carry everything from terra cotta pottery to stone sculptures and custom designs can be ordered in unique shapes and colors.
Also coming soon to the PDC are Bausman & Company, Suite B355; Franceso Molon, Suite B540; SFC Flooring, Suite G298 and the Feed All Café in the Melrose Plaza.
HEWN, a new 5000-square-foot showroom located in the Galleria Building of the San Francisco Design Center, introduces new lines not previously offered in the San Francisco Bay Area including: The Rug Company, Mally Skok Textiles, Loro Piana Home, Chris Barrett Outdoor Fabrics, Lucy Rose Design and Marcali Designs Furniture.
R HUGHES Atelier at ADAC
R HUGHES Atelier’s new 2,155-square-foot studio will present consumers and designers with exquisite collections of textiles, wall coverings, rugs and accessories inside ADAC. The showroom will also house the flagship Holland & Sherry Collection and a rotating “lifestyle vignette” presenting specially chosen furniture and lighting pieces.
Martin Nash at ADAC
Also new to ADAC is the Martin Nash showroom, which offers high-end furnishings and introduces an assorted mix of furniture, lighting and accessories to the center.
Just in time for the Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishing Market, a plethora of new showrooms have opened their doors or moved to expanded spaces, including: The Lonestar Group, Regina-Andrew Design, Roland Products, Adventure Marketing, Antiques & Interiors, Heeney Company, In the Breeze, Old South Lamps & Accents and Peacock Park.
Amer Rugs, the Norcross, Georgia-based area rug house, selected a permanent showroom at Showplace 3415 in High Point, which will open during the October High Point Market. At its new home, Amer will showcase its entire portfolio of designs, colors and constructions. Also on hand will be Amer's new Ameresque line of decorative accents.
nuHaus Chicago showroom
nuHaus announced the grand opening of its Chicago showroom at 120 W. Hubbard St., in the heart of the River North Design District. The 5,000-square-foot showroom and design studio is a masterful and harmonious mix of cabinetry, furnishings, architectural elements and technology.
Throughout the summer, the Dallas Design Center is celebrating new showroom openings, expansions and anniversaries. They include: Zucker Feather Products, Watson & Co, Handmade Gift FINDS, Pearson’s Simply Primitives, J.A.G Enterprises, Inc., Vagabond House, Inc., Precious Moments, Inc., Langley Empire Candle Company, Morgen Garis Gallery, Texas Crystal Co. and PORT 68.

Case Design Studio in Bethesda
Case Design/Remodeling, Inc., announced the opening of its new Design Studio at 4701 Sangamore Road, North Plaza, in Bethesda, Maryland. With an inspirational and innovative update to its Design Studio, Case enhances the homeowners’ product selection process, providing a place to see, feel and experience the latest in kitchen and bathroom products as well as showcasing advancements in design technology. A home automation system including iPad-controlled lighting and entertainment systems, along with additional interactive amenities as they’re implemented, will also be on display.
Leicht Boston showroom at the Boston Design Center
The Boston Design Center has welcomed six new luxury showrooms to its New England family including Carlisle Wide Plank Floors, Suite 541; Dovetales, Suite 329; Leicht Boston, Suite 639; Porcelanosa, Suite 505; ROMO, Suite 528; and Waterspot by Ardente, Suite 429.

Bauer Pottery Company of Los Angeles opened a new showroom in Tokyo. Masa Sakurai, who designed the Los Angeles showroom, has also created the look of the Tokyo location and will spearhead wholesale sales in the country. A similar look to the L.A. showroom—an orange door, corrugated siding and faux distressed sign—were added to the outside of the building in Tokyo. Located in the Asakusa District of Taito City, the showroom opened with a celebration in May.
