Several brands rang in the New Year with newfangled websites, while others rolled out commerce sections and augmented reality apps. Here’s a look at what’s happening online from Design-Apart, Adornably, Tobi Fairley, Aero Studios, Jerry Pair, Behr Paints, Graham & Brown, and YDesign Group.
Design-Apart, a platform that brings bespoke Italian design to international customers, has launched an e-commerce site which will feature limited edition artist series of objects, produced in collaboration with leading artists, designers, and manufacturers. The first limited edition artist collection, Hope Bird, has been created in partnership with Spanish artist and designer Jaime Hayon and Italian ceramics manufacturer Bosa. Following the opening of Design-Apart’s first U.S. living showroom in New York, the e-commerce launch advances the company’s mission to create an accessible marketplace of artisanal Italian objects and craftsmanship for an international set of customers passionate about intelligent design.
E-commerce company Adornably has launched a free augmented reality iPad app that allows users to take photos of their space and then drop high quality, "3D photorealistic imagery" of furniture into the images. The app is available in iTunes, where hundreds of pieces are featured, including Stanley, Vanguard and Theodore Alexander furniture and accessories.
Interior designer Tobi Fairley has relaunched her firm’s website with new branding that showcases the full slate of design and consulting services she’s offering. Six aspects of Fairley’s business are prominently featured on the website: Interior Design, Tobi’s Blog, Consulting, Tobi Fairley Home, Tobi TV and Tobi U. Each of the segments is color-coded and provides in-depth descriptions of all services and tools on offer, many of which are downloadable directly from the site.
Thomas O’Brien’s Aero Studios has a redesigned website that showcases the designer’s three brands: Thomas O’Brien, Aero Studios and Aero Store, as well as the Interiors Portfolio and the store Product Library.
Jerry Pair’s newly redesigned website invites consumers to view new products with easier navigation, learn a little bit of “leather lingo” and catch up on the company’s latest news.
Behr Paints’ brand-new site allows users to locate their paint choices faster and more efficiently. The ColorSmart by Behr® application has been improved so users can share colors via email and on social media; the How-To section offers elite access to step-by-step instructions for projects; and the home page features new product callouts.
Wallcovering company Graham & Brown has enhanced the appearance and navigation of its site, offering a simpler checkout, customer reviews, inspiration and advice, and a wish list feature.
YLighting launched a new corporate brand YDesign Group in December, and with that came a new website that features a company timeline, leadership bios, media and careers sections.
