Coinciding with the launch of his fabric collection with Lee Jofa, Oscar de la Renta has designed a line of hand-made ballroom skirts to be auctioned online. All proceeds will benefit Casa del Niño, an organization he founded in 1982 with Xiomara Menendez to help children in the Dominican Republic.
The auction will consist of nine one-of-a-kind skirts, fully lined and made from Oscar de la Renta Home fabrics, and one caftan made from various patterns from the collection. All pieces are a women's designer size 4.
The Oscar de la Renta fabric collection includes 25 designs in silk, linen, velvet and cotton, ranging from delicate floral embroidery and ethnic-inspired prints on linen to solid silks and velvets in bright, saturated hues.
Bidding will be hosted online September 7 - November 30 at www.biddingforgood.com, with an opening bid of $750.
