Palm Springs Modernism Show & Sale kicks off next month
Jan 13, 2017

Running February 17 to 20, the Palm Springs Modernism Show & Sale will feature 80-plus dealers, as well as a series of sessions on topics including “Midcentury Modern by Most-Collected Blenko Glass Designer, Wayne Husted,” “General Dynamics and Post-War Propaganda,” “51st Anniversary of the Eames Lounger & Ottoman,” and “Jimmy & Me,” on James Dean. There will also be a complimentary exhibit organized by the Museum of California Design titled “Plastics From Paradise: California Modernizes the American Lifestyle,” about the impact of the material in the Golden State and beyond.

Palm Springs Modernism Show & Sale

“The Palm Springs Modernism Show & Sale is a unique opportunity for attendees to purchase midcentury modern furniture, decorative and fine arts—mostly from the 1950s through the 1970s,” says Rosemary Krieger, president of Dolphin Promotions, which produces the show. “We ensure that the dealers we feature at this important show offer the finest items of this special period of design history, and that many of their items reflect the midcentury resort lifestyle enjoyed in Palm Springs.”

The show, to be held at the Palm Springs Convention Center, will open with a preview reception on February 17 to benefit Modernism Week
