Las Vegas Design Center in partnership with Pantone Color Institute celebrated this year's holiday season in colorful style. Just a week following the formal announcement of Pantone's 2012 Color of the Year, LVDC held its special annual holiday gala celebration Dec. 19, successfully executing a first-of-its-kind Color of the Year display swathed in Tangerine Tango for the Southern Nevada and southwest regional design industry.
This event marks the first time any Design Center has partnered with Pantone to execute a celebration of the highly anticipated Color of the Year in a large-scale event.
"We were thrilled to partner with Pantone to headline the 2012 Color of the Year. Pantone is not just the most respected authority on color, they are THE authority. Their influence over both the design and fashion industries is unparalleled. This unprecedented partnership with Pantone speaks to our continued commitment to bringing the best of the best to Las Vegas Design Center," said Randy Wells, vice president of Las Vegas Design Center at World Market Center.
Prior to the celebration, Pantone Executive Director Leatrice Eiseman gave a brief presentation on the fascinating process of selecting the Pantone Color of the Year.
The annual gala included tango dancers, aerialists draped from the ceiling and dancers all dressed fittingly in the 2012 Color of the Year. The event even featured signature cocktails and appetizers in the shade of the evening.
“The release of the color of the year is Pantone’s single-most significant annual announcement that generates huge and ongoing global buzz,” said Eiseman. “We were pleased to partner with Las Vegas Design Center to share the 2012 Color of the Year with the area’s regional design industry immediately following our official announcement. We look forward to an ongoing partnership with LVDC and hope to continue to bring a firsts-in-color to Las Vegas and its thriving design community,” said Eiseman.
