“Suzanne Rheinstein has been a constant and devoted supporter of the ICAA’s Southern California Chapter,” shares CAA-SCC co-founder Marc Appleton. “In the early years, when we did not have a ‘home,’ she generously hosted lectures and book signings for us at her former Hollyhock showroom. For this alone, we are eternally grateful to her, and I am so pleased that we are finally honoring her this year.”

Peter McCoy, a patron of the chapter, received the inaugural Legacy Dinner distinction last year. Of the event’s beginnings, board member and 2016 Legacy Dinner chair Jesse Harrison explains, “The genesis for the Legacy Dinner was to create a signature annual event bringing together the design community to celebrate someone who has made a significant impact in advancing the chapter’s mission. We are thrilled to honor Suzanne Rheinstein!”

Proceeds from the gala will benefit the chapter’s mission to advance classical architecture via educational and scholarship programs. Chapter president Doc Williamson shares with EAL of the organization’s greater purpose: “Thanks in large part to the Legacy Dinner, the chapter has been able to award scholarships to students for the National ICAA’s programs, including an 11-day educational studio intensive and a six-week summer studio program at the ICAA’s National headquarters in New York, as well as for the Paris and Rome Drawing Tours. I am particularly excited that the chapter will be bringing the New Heights initiative—an arts-in-education program designed to expose middle and high school students to classical architecture—to an all-girls public school in 2017. This program will be instrumental in planting the seed for the next generation who will further the tradition.”
