The ICA&CA embraces landscape architecture and design as part of its 2010 summer lecture series, "The Most Democratic Art: Looking at American Landscape Design," a four-part series, beginning June 16 at the New York School of Interior Design.
The series explores the fundamental dynamism of landscape design, the constant making and remaking of natural materials, and conceptual parameters of landscape design—as it relates to the ICA&CA's educational and programmatic mission which is about sustaining classical patterns and principles for modern investigation, appreciation, and prospective application.
The Series fosters a dialogue between public landscape architecture and private garden design—a back and forth of lessons learned and innovation allowed with knowledge of horticulture informing throughout.
