Los Angeles-based art provider Soicher Marin will expand its list of designer labels to include Thom Filicia. The company currently works with Mariette Himes Gomez, Suzanne Kasler, Jamie Drake and Barclay Butera on developing artwork for its Designer Collection.
Filicia designs for the way people live now, which includes beauty and practicality, according to the the company's founder. He has a unique approach which blends the worlds of mass media, lifestyle and interior design, and commercial product development.
For this collection, he took a minimalist approach to his designs, which include airplanes, industrial images, leaves, beach scenes and smatterings of Americana, according to a report in Home Accents Today. "His designs are accessible" said Ed Marin, CEO. "It takes me back to being a kid; the nostalgia of America, of a time that was perhaps simpler."
"The process of getting the multitude of ideas blazing through Thom’s mind into concrete works of art is incredible. He’s got an amazing ability to distill ideas, and he has one [idea] every few seconds. It’s all we could do to keep up ... his collection of art is like nothing we’ve presented before. Thom’s unique brand and vision is exciting," according to the Soicher Marin's blog, Soicher Marin Says.
