Interior Design Magazine held its seventh annual ‘Best of Year’ awards on Nov. 29 at the Goldman Sachs’ headquarters in New York City. Assembling a group of over 800 design professionals and enthusiasts, the esteemed design awards celebrated the year’s best projects and products at a state-of-the-art auditorium and event space designed by SHoP Architects.
“Every year we are blown away by the caliber of projects and products submitted for Best of Year Awards and it becomes incredibly difficult to select winners,” said Cindy Allen, Editor-in-Chief of Interior Design Magazine. “We were pleased to be able to add several new categories this year and we congratulate both our honorees and winners on their amazing work.”
Best of Year project design honorees were selected by Allen and a jury of design leaders from over 550 project submissions, while the product design winners and honorees were selected by interior designers and architects via an online vote from 660 product submissions. The winners were announced live by hosts Allen and Mark Strauss, Interior Design president and publisher.
There were over 100 winners in the sectors of product design and projects with categories inlcuding accessories, flooring, furniture, kitchen, lighting, textiles and wallcoverings, and hospitality, residential, commercial and green design.
Winners included Cliff Young Ltd., Warp & Weft, Artistic Tile, Sutherland, Jonathan Alder for Kohler and many more. A full list of winners, honorees and photographs can be found here.
Proceeds from the evening went towards Rebuilding Together NYC, a nonprofit organization dedicated to repairing homes affected by Hurricane Sandy.
