Top design talent honored in New England

New England Home Magazine last week announced its 2016 class of Design Hall of Fame inductees across interior design, architecture, landscape and custom building categories. 


Honorees Kenneth Vona, Brian Vona and Jim Koulopoulos of Kenneth Vona Construction

Judges included James Righter, principal of Albert, Righter & Tittmann Architects; Anthony Catalfano, principal of Anthony Catalfano Interiors; Kathryn Herman, principal of Doyle Herman Design Associates; and Theodore Landsmark, president emeritus, Boston Architectural College.

Kyle Hoepner, editor in chief of New England Home, shares, “Watching this year’s selection committee at work reminded me once more of the enviable depth and breadth of the talent pool we have here in New England. Being able to bring together our region’s residential design and building industry over these past 10 years through the New England Design Hall of Fame, and to recognize so many of its most distinguished figures, has been a great honor and a true pleasure.”

    •    Anne Lacouture Penniman, Anne Penniman Associates, Essex, CT

Specialty (Custom Building)
    •    Kenneth Vona Construction, Waltham, MA
    •    Woodmeister Master Builders, Holden, MA

Kathy Bush-Dutton, publisher of New England Home, says, “We are beyond impressed with this year’s group of individuals and firms. The honorees will be inducted in a ceremony in Boston on November 10.
